Oh to have an audience with the King

to know that he has the right

and the authority

to crush me with one word

Yet I come in this truth

knowing that he who can crush

is so committed to virtue

that he exemplifies justice

and that He chooses to see me

covered in his own favor

in his own grace

He looked upon creation

upon sinful man

and saw fit to make him unsinful

by his own right hand

by the blood of his righteous son

So I come

I have audience with the king

with my Father

even God almighty

I can cast myself to his feet

and wrap myself in the hem

of his garment!

Though I express

Unbridled passion in the court of the king

Yet he does not blush

Nor does he reprimand

But he gathers me

And says “This is my heart too”

“What you desire, I desire.”

“It shall be done.”

The passions of my heart rejoice

And looking on him who

Imparts justice and grace

I am overwhelmed

And with the court in Heaven 

I cry

Holy Holy Holy

                           Holy Holy Holy

              Holy Holy Holy

Worthy is the Lamb --

               Holy is the King --

He dispenses favor so he can hear

The hearts of his subjects

And calls me royalty!

Holy Holy Holy!
