We pledge our lives
Our fortunes
And our sacred honor
For the name of Jesus
And the kingdom of the skies
He kicked me from the land of Egypt
Plucked me from the world
In sacrifice and mercy
He declared me righteous
Then he made me walk
In the barren land
Trials and tribulation came
But always with miraculous hands
As a disciple,
I agreed to follow him
Leaving family and lovers
To become utterly despised
He let me glimpse the land of promise
I saw miracles yet again
But it was all part of the test
To see if I would trust him
I trusted him
And entered in
To expel the giants and sin
Which were about me
And were inside me
My strength wasn’t enough
But I knew his
And if I would only listen
His victory was mine.
We pledge our lives
Our fortunes
And our sacred honor
For the name of Jesus
And the kingdom of the skies
It is trust that precedes rest.
