Spirit grow
Become greater
Than my mind,
Will
Emotions
Oh as I go so low
Dig dug, dig dug
My spirit grow
And now as my spirit grows
I lean upon my father
Trust
Grow
Fruit
Grow
As my spirit grows
The things it knows
Banish this corrupted reason
That plagues my mind
When I was reborn
My spirit was a babe
But it needs, like a seed
The light of the Son
And rains from Heaven
In order to grow
I cultivated the garden
Setting my eyes on my Lord
Eyes on eyes
Nose on nose
Now I grow
My spirit has got to grow!
I guard
My eyes
And ears
And heart
For they can be wounded
And hinder growth
They put hard places on my soul
Scars that leach energy
That is intended to go into my spirit
And make it grow.
My spirit has to grow
The realm of the soul
Is like a distraction from the spirit
And from the heart of God
More than the flesh must die
In dying to self
In dying to ego
In dying to the mind
Will and
Emotions
I make room for my new baby spirit
To grow.
And Oh it must grow
For my spirit knows its Father
The one who gave it birth
The one who made it alive
Take captive every thought!
Good or bad
Take them captive!
For they distract from the path of life
They distract from the dependency
of spirit on God
Here in the spirit-rest of dependence
I do not judge
For that is a function of the soul
I do not criticize
For that is a function of the soul
The spirit is meant to be alive
And big
And strong
And ever-increasing in you.
It is here where the belivers’
Rest is found
And the pains and worries
Of the mind
Fade
For the spirit knows the Father
He has completed his work
And his is at rest
And it can rest completely on Him
Who is complete
