If I though River Rise was utterly simple, Awestruck by comparison is infantile. Yet it was a song that spontaneously burst out of my passion one day. I grabbed a phone, and made a voice note recording of the song, years before I could play any music. The worship team at my church helped figure out the chords to go with my melody. This isn't exactly the first original melody that burst from my lips - that happened when I was four, and I no longer remember most of that song- but it was the first complete worship song I created. Creation of this song was part of what motivated me to go learn to play guitar - so I could couple chords with melodies without having to rely on the time and charity of other people.
Over all, the song emotionally expresses my desire to know God more intimately, and then goes on to focus on the power of God to bring freedom from burden. It can be sung in a minute, or for an eternity. For whatever this song is now, it's available for you to do with as you please.
